lanny_sinkin_alii_manao_nui_shield_20As I wrote in this earlier post, "This is huge". Ali`i Mana`o Nui Lanny Sinkin points out a few more possibilities about where this ruling should lead. In my view, to paraphrase,

"All the state's horses and all the state's men (and women) could not put their rules together again."

In other words, all of their paradigms are falling apart.

This is fairly short. I've added my highlights below, in bold.

Ali`i Mana`o Nui Lanny Sinkin, 10-9-15... "Mauna a Wakea rules struck down"

Lanny Sinkin, Ali'i Mana'o Nui, Kingdom of Hawai'i

Judge Ibarra of the Third Circuit has struck down the BLNR rule prohibiting people from accessing a large area of Mauna a Wakea during the hours of 10:00 p.m. to 4:00 a.m. Uncle Kalani Flores brought the suit with a special focus on the impact of the rules on faith practitioners.

With the Office of Mauna Kea Management rules withdrawn shortly after the Federal suit [also, here] was filed by the Kahuna of the Temple of Lono and the most significant part of the BLNR rules now struck down, the Federal case may well settle. A hearing is scheduled in Federal Court in Honolulu on Friday.

Congratulations and mahalo nui loa to Kalani and the attorneys who pursued the case.

The next step should be the Hawai'i Supreme Court striking down the permit issued for the TMT.
