This is from the Kingdom blog. It is a reminder to Governor Ige and others that the pieces of the Kingdom of Hawai'i government are continuing to be set into place.
A particular point that resonated with me is, "I would also remind you that the Hawaiian Independence Movement is protected under the Constitution and laws of the United States and the State of Hawai'i. I have every right to engage in any legal action furthering that political goal."
Here are a few highlights.
"First of all, when I say I am contemplating an action that means simply that I am thinking about whether the action is appropriate to the situation.
"Second, what nation do you know that lacks a law enforcement component? As I restore more and more of the Kingdom Government, I am putting into place institutions that are common to all nations.
"Third, part of my kuleana as King is to protect my people. While we may have different views as to what is going on, I trust you can respect the Hawaiian people enough to grant the legitimacy of their position that Mauna a Wākea is sacred in the traditional Hawaiian faith and that TMT represents desecration. From that point of view, those preventing the desecration are the true enforcers of the law – both Kingdom law as codified in my amendment to the Law of the Splintered Paddle and State of Hawaii law that forbids desecrating a sacred site.
"Fourth, I am not waiting around for the United States and its subordinate governments, like the State of Hawai`i, to decide to cooperate in a transition process leading to a fully independent Kingdom. As the Kingdom Government is able to assume responsibility for governmental functions, the Kingdom will proceed to implement that capacity.
"Fifth..., I have made clear on numerous occasions that the Kingdom is a non-aligned nation offering peace-making (Ho'oponopono) services to other nations experiencing conflict. Our overall goals remain to achieve peace and reconciliation within the Human Family and peace and reconciliation between the Human Family and the Rest of the Natural World."

Ali`i Mana`o Nui Lanny Sinkin: The King issued a letter today addressing the possible deployment of Kingdom Marshals for purposes of law enforcement on Mauna a Wākea and Haleakalā. The purpose of the letter is to ensure that there is no misunderstanding regarding his previous letter that included this possibility.
