Most of us have heard of all this, but I found this short video was an excellent summary of how the international bankers used the debt incurred by the US during the civil war as an opportunity to "ram through" the infamous "Act of 1871". Therefore, technically, the sovereigns (the people) became "slaves" (property of THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA corporation).
